The Fall season has a special meaning in the hearts of people from Bengal.
On some auspicious days of the month of Ashwin, which falls in the September-October timeframe, Indians, specifically Bengali communities around the world celebrate Durga Puja.
For the past 18 years, the Greater Kansas City community, including Lawrence, has been celebrating this special time by having a community get-together to worship Goddess Durga. Every third year, the festival takes place in Lawrence, KS.
The Bengali Community of Lawrence is organizing this year's Puja. This is the 19th Midwest Sarbojonin Durga Puja. Lawrence is the home of the University of Kansas and we will celebrate this year's Puja within the beautiful campus of KU.
We invite you to join us in this celebration of Fall Festival.
This year's Fall Festival patron is the Office of International Programs at the University of Kansas.
